First Trial Day at "Death Valley" Airsoft Event |
As part of the development of the Experiences we are going to offer our customers in 2013, we ran a trial event at our primary airsoft site (we have 2 being developed now) in lovely Tenbury Wells which we call "Death Valley" for reasons which will become obvious if you visit us there. It was quite muddy - but then that just made it all the more enjoyable. Here are some of the happy attendees. Click on it to download the HD image. |
and the Most Valuable Player of the day was
Tom Ferguson - Well Done Tom!
Whilst this was very much an internal event to understand the issues and problems of the site, we included several sections of the player community that we know have expressed a desire to use our facilities:
Overall, I think the cadets showed us all the necessity for fitness, but everyone had a good time and we learned a lot. The locals were happy that at last someone was intending to provide a facility for them; The Birmingham Airsofters were happy to breath clean air (my impression chaps - sorry!); the corporate event organiser (also from Birmingham) was able to see Tenbury Wells and said how surprised he was that such lovely countryside was so close and he was previously unaware of it (we provided overnight accommodation at a premium location locally) and the film guys confirmed their existing interest in bringing productions out to locations in the Tenbury Area.
As for the cadets, well we already support the youngsters in other areas (We did a weapons familiarisation course for Bromsgrove School CCF at Nescliffe Army Camp on 19th March) and we will host several companies of them as they prepare here for the annual competitions in August. We are very happy to support these lads and lasses who one day might be defending us overseas.
We were also approached by a person responsible for organising events for disadvantaged kids in the West Midlands and I am sure that we will be able to arrange something regularly for them.
Catering was courtesy of Mrs. Mumford using locally-sourced food and Medical Cover was provided by Mrs. Thompson (thanks to both). We had more than sufficient marshals on site and our thanks also to them for both their marshaling and the experienced insight they provided to improve safety and enjoyment in the future.
So - to give you a flavour of the fun and enjoyment had by all, those great guys at Nightshift Films have produced this YouTube clip (I apologise now for some of the more tasty language - but "war is hell"). Enjoy!
